⭐ Skip Counting
Hundreds charts provide a great way for children to practice their skip counting skills because they can see and count numbers as they skip count by 2s, 5s, 10s, or any other number.
⭐ Color Coding Patterns
Give children colored pencils to color-code numbers following specific rules. For example, ask them to color all multiples of 5 in red and all multiples of 3 in blue. This visual approach can help children see numerical relationships and better understand skip counting.
⭐ Race to 100 Game
Turn your hundreds chart into a game board! Have children roll a dice and move a marker the number of spaces they rolled. From then on, each time they roll the dice, they will add or subtract that number from the number in the square they landed on, trying to be the first to reach the number 100 on their hundreds chart. You can create additional rules, like skipping over multiples of ten or getting an extra turn if you land on multiples of 5.
