What You’ll Need for Your Pencil Monster Craft

• Pencils
• Colorful pipe cleaners
• Googly eyes in different sizes
• Craft glue or glue dots
• Child-safe scissors, if needed

Instructions for Making Pipe Cleaner Pencil Monsters

Step 1: Wrap the Pipe Cleaner

Choose a colorful pipe cleaner and a pencil. Wrap the pipe cleaner around the top of the pencil several times to create your monster’s body.

Leave some of the pipe cleaner sticking out on each side to create arms.

Step 2: Shape Your Monster

Bend and twist the ends of the pipe cleaner to give your monster arms, hands, antennae, or other silly features. Wrap around smaller sections of pipe cleaner to create antennas or additional sets of arms.

There’s no wrong way to make a monster! Try making each one a little different.

Step 3: Add Googly Eyes

Choose one, two, three, or even more googly eyes for your monster. Use a small amount of craft glue or glue dots to attach the eyes to the pipe cleaner near the top of the pencil.

Tip: Try using different sizes of googly eyes to make your monster extra silly!
