Father’s Day provides a wonderful opportunity to thank the important men in our lives, and this Father’s Day craft is simple enough for even young children to help complete. With just everyday household supplies, kids can make a one-of-a-kind photo frame to give Dad on his big day.

Father’s Day Craft: Step-by-Step Instructions for the Dad Photo Frame

Supplies Needed
- Letter D outline from the ABCmouse Letter D Worksheets
- Letter A outline from the ABCmouse Letter A Worksheets
- Photos
- 2 sheets of construction paper
- 2 paper towel tubes
- Markers/crayons, scissors, glue
Step 1: Print Out Letters & Photos

Print out two letter D outlines and one letter A outline. Then select three photos of your dad or of your dad and the people he loves (like you!). Print out the photos in smaller sizes so they fit within the inner outline of the letter D and the upper, triangular space of the letter A outline.
Step 2: Color & Cut Out Letters

Use markers, paint, crayons, or colored pencils to color in the letter D and letter A outlines. Cut out the letters from the paper, cutting out the inner portion of paper from the letters too.
Step 3: Cut Out & Glue Photos

Cut out each photo so it fits in the opening of each letter. Glue them in place. Glue a square of white paper behind the photos and letters to help make each one sturdier.
Complete this step for each letter, and trim the edges of the white paper backing to ensure it’s not hanging over the edges of the letters.

Step 4: Create the Photo Stand

Decorate both sheets of construction paper. Apply glue to the paper towel tubes. Wrap the construction paper around the paper towel tubes, pressing the paper down to glue it into place. Allow them to dry. Alternatively, you can paint and decorate the paper towel tubes themselves and allow them to dry.
Step 5: Assemble the Frame

Arrange the letters to spell out the word DAD. The letter Ds are glued into place in between the paper towel tubes, one towards each end of the tubes. The letter A is placed in between the letter Ds and glued to the front of a paper towel tube, creating a unique three-dimensional look. Wrap up Dad’s gift, present him with his new photo frame, and thank him for all he does for you!
