They\u2019re ready to add some <strong>advanced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abcmouse.com\/learn\/advice\/what-is-decoding-in-reading\/26828\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">decoding <\/a>techniques<\/strong> to their toolkit, like <strong>diphthongs, prefixes, and suffixes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kids this age also focus more on <strong>reading comprehension, analyzing <\/strong>the texts they read. These reading activities for second graders offer fun and interactive ways to practice. On a longer piece, add a sticker with a compound word.
