In our recent study conducted in collaboration with Albina Head Start, we examined the efficacy of integrating ABCmouse<\/strong> Early Learning Academy into their curriculum as a means to bolster school readiness<\/strong> among young learners transitioning from Head Start to kindergarten. The study, available in full PDF format here<\/a>, delves into the impact of digital learning tools<\/strong> like ABCmouse in facilitating a seamless transition for children entering formal schooling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our findings reveal a significant correlation between ABCmouse usage and improved kindergarten preparation<\/strong>. By supplementing traditional classroom instruction with ABCmouse<\/strong> activities, teachers across 25 classrooms positively influenced nearly 500 students<\/strong>. Notably, for every additional 100 ABCmouse learning activities completed by a student, there was a 3.6% increase in school readiness <\/strong>scores. This effect was particularly pronounced in classrooms where ABCmouse was utilized more extensively, indicating the substantial role digital tools can play in enhancing early learning outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n

Furthermore, the study highlights ABCmouse’s<\/strong> pivotal role in fostering family engagement in children’s education<\/strong>. By assigning lessons for at-home completion, educators like Ms. Araya strengthened the connection between classroom learning and parental involvemen<\/strong>t. This approach not only supported academic growth but also promoted cooperative behavior and sustained engagement<\/strong> in learning activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our partnership with Albina Head Start enabled us to extend ABCmouse access to waitlisted families, addressing the challenge of limited Head Start slots<\/strong>. The case of Kenya B. and her daughter Ja\u2019Nyah exemplifies the transformative potential of this access, with Ja\u2019Nyah demonstrating remarkable progress in literacy and math skills<\/strong> within a few months of using ABCmouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
