Tackle:

Definition: When someone tackles a person, they grab the person and drag him or her to the ground, usually to stop the person from running.

Sentence: The football player was tackled as he ran with the ball.

Tadpole:

Definition: A tadpole is a small animal with a large head and a long tail. Tadpoles live in the water and grow up to be frogs and toads.

Sentence: Tina's toucan's name is Tex. Her tadpole's name is Myrtle.

Taffy:

Definition: Taffy is a kind of candy that is very sweet and chewy.

Sentence: Whenever I eat taffy, it gets stuck in my teeth.

Tap shoes:

Definition: Tap shoes are shoes that have pieces of metal on the bottom, so that when a person walks or dances in them on a hard floor they make a tapping or clicking sound.

Sentence: Ted wore tap shoes when he danced. Tara wore pink toe shoes.

Tapioca:

Definition: Tapioca is a kind of food made from the root of a plant called cassava, that is ground or cut up into tiny bits that look like rice. Tapioca is sometimes put into pudding.

Sentence: My favorite dessert is tapioca pudding.

Tarantula:

Definition: A tarantula is a large, hairy spider.

Sentence: Troy has a tarantula. And Terry has a turtle.

Tassel:

Definition: A tassel is a bunch of colored strings or threads that are tied together at one end and used as a decoration.

Sentence: My scarf has red and blue tassels hanging from the ends.

Tattoo:

Definition: A tattoo is a picture or letters drawn on someone's skin that won't come off.

Sentence: The man has a large tattoo of a bear on his arm.

Terrific:

Definition: If something is terrific, it is very, very good.

Sentence: It's that totally terrific letter t !

Tinsel:

Definition: Tinsel is threads or strips of shiny gold or silver material that is used for decoration.

Sentence: Some families use tinsel to decorate their Christmas trees.

Toddle:

Definition: When someone toddles, they are walking in a way that looks like they are just learning how to walk.

Sentence: When tiny Timmy toddled by, he toppled Tommy's towers.

Toe shoe:

Definition: A toe shoe is a kind of shoe that ballet dancers wear because it makes it easier for them to stand up on their toes when they dance.

Sentence: Ted wore tap shoes when he danced. Tara wore pink toe shoes.

Toot:

Definition: If you toot an instrument, you blow into it so that it makes a musical sound.

Sentence: Tony tooted on his tuba: oompah, oompah, oompah-pah.

Top hat:

Definition: A top hat is a tall hat with a flat top that a man might wear to special events and parties.

Sentence: Ted tapped in top hat and tuxedo. Tara wore two tutus.

Topple:

Definition: When you topple something, you make it fall over.

Sentence: When tiny Timmy toddled by, he toppled Tommy's towers.

Toucan:

Definition: A toucan is a bird with a large, brightly colored beak. Toucans live in Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean.

Sentence: Tina's toucan's name is Tex. Her tadpole's name is Myrtle.

Tower:

Definition: A tower is a building or other structure that is very tall and thin.

Sentence: When tiny Timmy toddled by, he toppled Tommy's towers.

Tuba:

Definition: A tuba is a large musical instrument that you play by blowing into it and pressing buttons to change the notes.

Sentence: Tony tooted on his tuba: oompah, oompah, oompah-pah.

Tulip:

Definition: A tulip is a type of plant with a flower that looks like a little cup.

Sentence: Tulips come in many colors, but my favorite tulips are red.

Tutu:

Definition: A tutu is a short skirt that girl and women ballet dancers wear.

Sentence: Ted tapped in top hat and tuxedo. Tara wore two tutus.

Tuxedo:

Definition: A tuxedo is a black or white suit jacket that a man wears to special events and parties.
