Cozy:

Definition: If you are cozy, you are warm and comfortable.

Sentence: Q is for quilt-a warm cozy spread. Just like a blanket, it goes on your bed!

Palace:

Definition: A palace is a very large house or building. Sometimes palaces are called castles or mansions. Kings and queens often live in palaces.

Sentence: Q is for queen ! The queen's name is Alice. She lives with King Quincy in quite a nice palace.

Peep:

Definition: When an animal peeps, it makes short, very high sounds that are not very loud. If you don't make a peep, you don't make any noise at all-not even a very quiet or soft sound.

Sentence: Q is for quiet, so don't make a peep!

Quail:

Definition: A quail is a type of small bird with a short tail.

Sentence: We saw the quail eating seeds off the ground before it flew away.

Quake:

Definition: When something quakes, it shakes or moves back and forth quickly. Sometimes a person's body quakes when they are afraid or when they are very cold. Sometimes a large area of the ground shakes, and that is called an earthquake.

Definition: If something is quality or has quality, it is excellent.

Definition: A quartet is a group of four people who sing or play music together.

Quilt:

Definition: A quilt is a bedcover made by sewing together two pieces of cloth with some material for padding between them. Many quilts are made from lots of pieces of cloth that are different colors and shapes sewn together.

Definition: A quince is a kind of fruit. Quinces are yellow or orange. They have lots of seeds and a strong smell. People sometimes use quinces to make jelly.

Definition: A quintet is a group of five people who sing or play music together.

Definition: When you quit something, you stop doing it.

Sentence: Now it's time to quit. To quit means, "I'm through!"

Quiver:

Definition: A quiver is a long, narrow bag that is used to hold arrows and that can be worn across a person's back.

Sentence: I carried the arrows in my quiver so I wouldn't drop them.

Rattle:

Definition: If something rattles, it makes tapping, knocking, or clicking noises when it is shaken.

Rumble:

Definition: When something rumbles, it makes a low, rolling noise, like the sound of thunder far away or like the sound of a big truck driving down a bumpy street.
