Cheep:

Definition: When a young bird cheeps, it makes short, very high sounds.

Sentence: Lots of peeping and cheeping, no time for any sleeping...

Cup:

Definition: When you cup your hand, you put it into a curved shape like a cup or bowl.

Sentence: Evan climbed up to the edge of a ledge, and he cupped his hand to his ear.

Echo:

Definition: An echo is a sound that bounces off of something so that you hear it again.

Sentence: He yodeled and yelled with all of his might to see if his echo he'd hear.

Emu:

Definition: An emu is a type of large bird that has long legs, but that can't fly. Emus live in Australia.

Sentence: Emma the emu and Ellie the elephant enjoy being friends at the zoo.

Insect:

Definition: An insect is a type of small animal that has three main body parts and six legs. Insects do not have any bones in their bodies, and most insects have wings. People often call insects "bugs."

Sentence: Ellie eats peanuts, and Emma eats insects, and each one eats fruits and grass, too.

Ledge:

Definition: A ledge is a narrow, flat surface that sticks out from a wall, such as a wall in a house or a wall of rock.

Sentence: Evan climbed up to the edge of a ledge, and he cupped his hand to his ear.

Might:

Definition: If you do something with all your might, you try your hardest and use all the strength and power that you can.

Sentence: He yodeled and yelled with all of his might to see if his echo he'd hear.

Peep:

Definition: When an animal peeps, it makes short, very high sounds that are not very loud. If you don't make a peep, you don't make any noise at all-not even a very quiet or soft sound.

Sentence: Lots of peeping and cheeping, no time for any sleeping...

Yodel:

Definition: When people yodel, they sing in a special way that makes their voices go very high and then low, over and over very quickly.

Sentence: He yodeled and yelled with all of his might to see if his echo he'd hear.
