Primary Grade Curriculum Specialist
This is a position that will work on developing a forward looking interactive curriculum for 1st,2nd and 3rd grade. The position calls for someone with detailed working knowledge of standards and instruction in all 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade subjects. This person will work as a member of the curriculum development team that is developing curriculum specifications for books and multimedia curriculum content and will be working directly with the Director of Curriculum Design as well as other creative and production personnel.
Qualifications:
  • The ideal person for this position will have experience working with a school system on primary grade curriculum.
  • At least 5+years of experience working with primary grades curriculum.
  • Experience in designing/developing interactive educational applications.
  • Specialized training and /or experience as a curriculum specialist in grades 1-3 such as reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies art or music.
  • Teaching experience is a plus.
Duties would include:
  • Write detailed specifications for development of content with specified learning objectives that meet state and other professional standards.
  • Insure specifications result in highly engaging and interactive content.
  • Review content for developmental appropriateness and the application of best-practice approaches in the presentation of concepts, principles, information and skills.

Education Assessment Manager
This is a position that will manage the ongoing development and incorporation of assessments in Age of Learning’s products and research initiatives. The role includes both internal and external-facing responsibilities, including coordinating work with our internal product and research teams and with outside resources such as academics and other consultants. This person will work as a member of the Corporate Development team and collaborate closely with the curriculum, product management, and product development teams.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience developing, validating, and/or deploying assessments; experience with digital and early childhood assessments preferred
  • PhD preferred
  • Education research experience
Duties would include:
  • Manage the ongoing development and incorporation of assessments in Age of Learning’s products and research initiatives
  • Help ensure that ABCmouse.com’s learning activities generate assessment-related outputs, including helping develop product requirement specifications
  • Manage external assessment-related resources, including academic and other consultants
  • Monitor developments in early education assessments, particularly digital assessments

Director of Curriculum Design
Director of Curriculum Design. This is a management position that is responsible for directing a growing team of curriculum specialists in the development of detailed specifications for learning activities in the preK-2 grade range. The position calls for someone with detailed working knowledge of standards and instruction in all elementary subjects and who is adept at managing a team in a highly productive and collaborative working environment.
Qualifications:
  • The ideal person for this position will have in depth experience managing educators and creating and implementing elementary grades curriculum resources both in print and online.
  • Substantial experience in designing/developing for interactive online learning applications.
  • At least 5+years of experience designing elementary school curriculum resources.
  • Experience in writing and editing.
  • Specialized training and /or experience as a curriculum specialist in grades K-3 such as reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies art or music.
  • Quick and facile thinker.
  • Teaching experience is a plus.
Duties would include:
  • Manage the curriculum specialists who write curriculum specifications.
  • Supervise and review the detailed specifications for development of content with specified learning objectives that meet professional standards for grades K-2.

Curriculum Data Manager
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in developing instructional guidelines and in cataloging and describing instructional activities for use by teachers of early childhood, and primary students (pre-k through grade 3). Additionally the candidate will have experience with the creation and maintenance of databases of such information, as well as experience with the tagging of content in curriculum databases so as to make specific content items easy to find according to the criteria that teachers are most likely to search by. The candidate will also have experience in identifying and describing relationships between learning activities and a variety types of curriculum standards, in all subjects.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience as an educator in grades K-3
  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing early learning and/or primary grades curriculum databases, all subjects
  • Experience in writing and editing
Duties would include:
  • Review learning activities to determine how they should be described and tagged
  • Maintain a database of information about learning activities
  • Identify how the learning objectives for given learning activities relate to other learning objectives in the database
  • Write clear, brief, highly readable descriptions of learning activities

Director of Product for Education Access Initiatives
Age of Learning’s Education Access Initiatives make available ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy, the leading educational website and mobile app for children ages 2-7+, to teachers, libraries, and other community institutions.

Our Education Access offerings include ABCmouse.com for Schools and ABCmouse.com for Libraries. The Director of Product will be responsible for product strategy and execution to further grow these offerings, particularly ABCmouse.com for Schools, used in more than 65,000 kindergarten and other classrooms and serving more than one million students. The Director of Product may also lead the development of additional Education Access offerings, including apps, to advance Age of Learning’s mission of bringing learning to life for children throughout the U.S. and around the world.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of digital product management experience, 8+ years total of relevant work experience
  • Experience as a teacher and/or in the ed tech sector preferred
  • Successful history of shipping great products
  • Experience in identifying and implementing UX/UI best practices
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to get the job done; general manager / owner mentality + an entrepreneurial drive
  • Demonstrated ability to grow an effective team
  • College degree required; advanced degree preferred
Duties would include:
  • Refine and own the product vision, goals, and key business metrics/indicators (KPIs) for ABCmouse.com for Schools, ABCmouse.com for Libraries, and other Education Access offerings
  • Define customer and product requirements, and clearly communicate and coordinate the requirements to the software development team and other stakeholders
  • Oversee user interface design, usability testing, customer research, metrics and data analysis

Script Coordinator
This position will be responsible for coordinating, tracking and managing tasks related to creating a high-quality English language-learning program. This person will work in the curriculum department and will interface with production teams including animators, designers and advisors.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience with scripts and knowledge of script formatting

The Book Editor/Writer will be responsible for turning curriculum specifications and objectives into engaging and age-appropriate fiction and non-fiction children’s books and book-related formats.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years hands-on experience editing fiction and/or non-fiction book or magazine content for children (including line editing, copyediting, and proofreading)
  • Experience as a published author of children’s content
